Outside the UK

Visit the UK
You can visit the UK for several purposes, such as:

Study in the UK
In most cases where the course you intend to study in the UK will last for more than 6 months, you will need to get accepted onto the course and obtain a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from the educational institution that you are going to study at before you apply for a visa. After you have received a CAS you can consider which visa option is best for you.
If the course you are going to study will last for more than 6 months, you will need a Student visa or Child Student visa, depending on your age.
Where your course will last for more than 6 months but less than 11 months, you can apply for a Short-term Study visa.
Courses that will last less than 6 months, do not require a CAS and you can come to the UK on a Standard Visitor visa.
